Itinerary

Embark on a journey through time to discover the treasures of Ayutthaya, Thailand’s former capital city. First, visit Bang Pa In Summer Palace, a former retreat for Thai kings, to explore beautifully-landscaped gardens and a floating pavilion. Stop for a coffee at a riverside café, then continue to the site of the 14th-century city where red brick temple and palace ruins offer a glimpse of the city’s former glory.  Now a UNESCO World Heritage, the old city once flourished as the epicenter of trade between East and West. See the iconic Buddha head emerging from the roots of a tree at Wat Mahathat, take a break at a local café and visit the former Grand Palace. Try a local pancake-like treat made by hand by local vendors before enjoying lunch at an atmospheric venue with views of nearby temples and river life. Continue to another towering old chedi that inspired the design of many temples in Bangkok.
