COVID-19 Protocols & Entry Requirements

International Travel Status

Open – Brazil reopened its borders to international travel on July 30th 2020.

Access into Brazil

Entry into the country is allowed by air travel into various international airports, including São Paulo (GRU), Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Fortaleza (FOR), Manaus (MAO), and Salvador (SSA). 

** Please note that wearing face masks may be requested in some places.

** Travelers whose embarking or stopover points are South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe or Eswatini, may not enter Brazil.

Entry Requirements

  • 12-year-old travelers and older must present a full vaccination card (last dose taken at least 14 days before arrival) OR a negative PCR or antigen test taken 24 hours prior to boarding the flight to Brazil.
  • Please note that in order for cards to be considered valid, they must be in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
  • No testing or vaccination card is required for children under the age of 12, traveling with an adult.
  • Proof of vaccination may be requested to enter some attractions, hotels and restaurants.
  • Masks are required while at airports and on planes.
