Day 1 - Welcome to Buenos Aires

Welcome to Buenos Aires!
Elegant, old-worldly, with a touch of Paris here and a touch of London there, a dash of New York cosmopolitanism and big splash of Italian exuberance, the city also has a strong Latin America personality as well as uniquely Argentine elements such as tango bars. Here, everything is grand, on a scale fit for kings: Tourists photograph vast steaks at restaurants, Nueve de Julio avenue ranks as the world’s widest, a cemetery so fancy that it occupies one of the poshest parts of the poshest neighborhood, while the entire city fronts onto the world’s widest river. Buenos Aires never fails to impress.
Familiarize yourself with some of the most recognizable landmarks in the northern area of Buenos Aires. Visit Recoleta neighborhood, home to many a mansion, which takes you back to Argentina’s grander days, the Recoleta Cemetery, renowned for its rich architecture and sculptures that makes it more of an open air museum than a place of rest. Continue to Palermo, a district with several faces such as classic Palermo Chico and contemporary Palermo Hollywood and Soho. Head towards Palermo Chico with its impressive townhouses, tree-lined boulevards and parks, then continue to Bosques de Palermo woods for the Japanese Garden and Rose Garden and their wonderful sculptures and lakes as well as the race track and polo grounds. Palermo Soho, meanwhile, fuses the flavor of a working-class neighborhood with contemporary twists such as ethnic restaurants, design stores and bars. Its bohemian atmosphere makes it popular with Argentines as well as foreign visitors.

Day 2 - Buenos Aires: Biking Tour & Cooking Class

Pedaling around Buenos Aires is an excellent way to see the city. This three-hour excursion, escorted by a group leader, will take you through key areas of Argentina’s flat capital. There are plenty of cycle lanes, meaning traffic will be avoided for the most part. A host of itinerary options ensures taking to the saddle will be an enjoyable ride rather than a strenuous one.

Head back to your hotel to freshen up and then take part in a private cooking class, specially designed to teach you how to prepare typical Argentine meat. You’ll get hands on as you don your apron and afterwards eat everything you’ve prepared.

Overnight: Four Seasons Buenos Aires or Alvear Art

Day 3 - Tango Life

The origins of the Tango are traced back to 1880 and its birthplace the slums, inhabited by Italian and Spanish immigrants, Africans and Gauchos.
From this racial mix appeared the compadritos (small-time hoods) who tried to reflect in their music, their letters and their dance, the typical cuchilleros (knife fighters) duel characteristic of their social ambient. Despite its humble origins, in the '20s tango left the brothels and the underworld districts to reach the high-class ballrooms, but to do so it had to travel to Paris to come back triumphant. Forget the mannered ballroom dancing image, tango's real roots are in its music: sometimes sleazy, sometimes elegant, but always sensuous, rhythmic and passionate.

Today, try a private tango lesson with an experienced teacher.

Punta Ninfas Lighthouse:
Depart on a pick-up truck or on bicycle toward the high cliffs which dominate Punta Ninfas. The lighthouse is located at the north end of the Peninsula. From here, stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean are obtained. It is the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset or the full moon on the sea.

Elephant Seals:
The beaches at the foot of the cliffs, which go from the pedral to Punta Ninfas, are home to a colony of elephant seals. The colony reaches its highest peak of population between September and March. During September, males start arriving, marking territory and forming their harem.

Penguin Rockery (September-March):
Every year in September, a growing colony of friendly Magellanic penguins settles in El Pedral. A guided tour among its nests will enable you to know much more about these curious animals. El Pedral keeps a control and cleaning program along its coasts, together with collaborating with the foundation GPS, Global Penguin Society, which monitors the Magellanic penguins’ colony of Punta Ninfas.

Beach Program:
The beach of El Pedral is a dream place to enjoy the Patagonian sea with family or friends. The pebble shore is a unique geological formation in Patagonia, comprising a 9,000 metre-long pebble beach, 900 meters wide and 8 meters in depth. Depending on the time of the year, you will be able to watch the wonderful show by southern right whales, which get close to the seaside due to the profound depth of those waters. Happening more often during the months of August and September, they can be observed during the whole whale watching season (end of May until the end of December).

This city has strong ties to central Europe as many families immigrated from Germany, Switzerland and Northern Italy over the past century. Their influence is easily found in the local culture and, of course, in the mountain-style architecture.

Bariloche is one of Argentina’s most exciting resorts, it offers mountain resort activities and every season is distinctively charming. Summer is best for outdoor activities and sports such as trout fishing, horseback riding, rafting, trekking and hiking. Enjoy lazy days at the lake at river beaches or more vigorous mountain climbing. In winter, Cerro Catedral is visited by increasing numbers of winter sports enthusiasts every year; it is the largest and most developed ski resort in South America with 600 hectares of snow.
