FD Globe Theatre Experience for Groups from Southampton

UK, London, Millenium bridge banner

Programme Overview

Duration: 1 day

A full day shore excursion featuring experiencing the exclusive Globe Theatre.

Highlights: The Globe Theatre, London attractions

DETAILS

Journey with your group to London this morning for a chance to immerse yourself in the Elizabethan theatre experience.  The Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse designed in 1599 where Shakespeare worked and for which he wrote many of his greatest plays.  In addition to putting on the plays of Shakespeare, the Globe is also home to many exhibitions and is deeply involved in many educational programmes.

You will begin with a complete tour of the theatre by a professional actor guide which will last for approximately 40 minutes.  Following this you will visit the 1400 square metre exhibition area housed beneath the Theatre where you will explore the remarkable struggle to rebuild the Globe, and see Shakespeare’s world brought to life using a range of interactive displays and demonstrations, including browsing the costume collection, learning how Globe actors are dressed in Elizabethan clothing today, and learning about sword-fighting.

At the end of your tour, which lasts for about 1 ½ hours, you will have approximately 2 hours of free time to visit some of London’s other attractions or enjoy some lunch at one of the many restaurants or cafes around the area.  The Globe Theatre is located on the South Bank, by the Tate Modern, and is next to The Millennium Bridge.
Your guide will be able to suggest a multitude of nearby attractions and places to eat to help you make the most of your free time here in London.

Please note this excursion is only available for groups not individuals, please enquire for further details.
