FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
DAY 1 – DAR ES SALAAM to SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Upon disembarkation in Dar es Salaam, you will be met by your guide and transferred by air-conditioned coach, via an orientation city tour, to the airport for check-in to your onward charter flight to the Selous National Park. Upon arrival in the Selous, board your safari vehicle and depart on a game drive.
 
The Selous Game Reserve is the largest game reserve in the world and has some of the finest virgin bush left in Africa, where the last of the really big-tusked elephants and large-maned lions roam. The Selous supports around one million game animals, is bigger than Switzerland and is a World Heritage site. From March to May floods sweep the valley, forcing the game on to the ‘islands’ of higher ground, where elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, crocodile, puku, buck, eland, sable and others concentrate.

Situated on the panhandle of the Rufiji River in view of the mighty Stiegler’s Gorge is Mivumo River Lodge. All twelve rooms are set along the river as is the large dining area. The lodge offers a variety of activities including boat adventures, exclusive guided walks, wilderness picnics, private game drives & sundowner river adventures.  The twelve air-conditioned luxury rooms are opulent in décor and are all set in implicit privacy. The architecture of the rooms is complimented by the LCD satellite television, private sundeck & plunge pool.
 
Check in at Mivumo Lodge, where lunch is served.  After lunch, time is available to enjoy the facilities and atmosphere of the lodge before departing on a late afternoon game drive.

DAY 2 – SELOUS GAME RESERVE to ZANZIBAR
Early morning wake up call, and gather in the living area for tea, coffee and biscuits.
Depart from the lodge on an early morning game-drive.  Return to the lodge for breakfast, after which you may spend the rest of the day at leisure – or you may wish to join one of the optional activities available at the lodge.

Lunch will be served at the lodge, after which you will check out and depart for your return charter flight to Zanzibar.

Upon arrival in Zanzibar, board your air-conditioned vehicle and proceed via an orientation city tour en route to the ship.  Explore Zanzibar's storied past during a scenic and informative walking tour of the Stone Town. From the Old Fort, you will then be escorted on a walking tour through Stone Town’s narrow streets.  Along the way, you will pass the Roman Catholic Church, see some extraordinary Zanzibar doors and catch a glimpse of typical Zanzibar life.

Following your walking tour, re-board your coach for the drive to the pier to rejoin the ship.

SHORT LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION
Enjoy an orientation of Dar es Salaam as you head to the airport for a charter flight to Selous National Park.  This World Heritage Site is the largest park in Africa, which you will explore on two exciting game drives.  Overnight accommodation is at the luxury Mivumo River Lodge.  Return to the ship by charter flight to Zanzibar, and enjoy a guided walking tour of Stone Town en route.
