The moon not only affects the tides of the sea, it also affects human consciousness and our behaviour. With our busy lives we often live according to an artificial timetable – one that is far removed from the natural one governed by the moon. The occurrence of a full moon signifies a time of heightened energy and power and there’s no better place to experience one than here in Jordan. We can book you on to a full moon desert meditation session that will give you the opportunity to re-harmonise with this element of nature.
Enter into Moon Valley and the majestic desert of Wadi Rum, escape the noise of the city and reconnect with nature. Rather than sunbathe, instead bathe under the moonlight and experience the serenity of the desert. You will witness sunset & sunrise, welcome the moon through meditating, and will participate in various harmonious chanting on the rocks and amidst the sand dunes. The beauty of the silence that surrounds you here will awaken your senses like never before.
The meditation sessions take place 12 times a year on the evening of the full moon and are open to both groups and individuals. No meditation experience is necessary: all you need is an open heart and a receptive mind; the desert will do the rest.
Full moon meditations are led by professional guides, healers, spiritualists, and storytellers. Each has their unique meditation practice and a love for desert nature and the moon. To take part in one of these unusual sessions please contact Akorn Jordan office for more information on dates and prices.

An attractive and historic property
on Amman’s well known ‘Rainbow Street’ has recently been renovated and now opens under the guise of Sufra, one of the capital’s latest culinary establishments.
Sufra means ‘big dining table’ and on the dining tables hungry customers will be offered a variety of delicious dishes from different areas of Jordan. Sufra was born out of the idea that the unique Jordanian culture is better understood through a journey of its cuisine. The kitchen will also blend Jordanian flavours with those of nearby Palestine. The restaurant’s aim is to recreate and retell Jordan’s notable historic stories through a truly culinary experience. This will be the first restaurant that serves Jordanian dishes that are exclusively homemade.
The restaurant has a capacity for 350 people with dining areas spread between the outside café, outside terrace and the main hall that boasts stunning views from its balcony over the old houses of Amman. Contact us please to include an authentic Sufra Restaurant experience in your itinerary
