Best time to go to Croatia 

The time period from April to October is considered the best time to visit Croatia. Summer temperatures can reach up to 38°C in mid summer, while surface water temperatures go up to a pleasant 26°C. July and August are the busiest months due to many Europeans taking their annual vacations over this period. The summer months also see a plethora of cultural activities, such as the Dubrovnik Summer Festival and a series of festivals of music, film and art at the Roman Amphitheatre in Pula.

Spring is characterised by pleasant weather accompanied by rare, short showers, while early autumn is ideal for those looking for a tranquil holiday. Out of high season, the beaches are uncrowded and hotel prices significantly lower, while the weather remains stable and warm.

17 Days of Croatian Film Festival

Zagreb's 17 Days of Croatian Film festival, at the Student Centre, presents audiences with a selection of the year's best Croatian movies. The short, medium and feature-length films include documentaries, animation, experimental films and music videos. The participating film-makers compete for special awards that include the jury's Days of Croatian Film award and the Croatian Film Critic Association's Octavian award.

RAF Amateur Film Festival

International Folklore Festival

 Zagreb's International Folklore Festival hosts exhibitions, folk and global music concerts, dance and music workshops, film and audio visual presentations at venues around the city. The festival boasts a programme featuring over 40 Croatian and foreign performers. Most of the action takes place in Zagreb's Upper Town, with performances also on the city's Josip Jelacic square. An ethnographic exhibition accompanies the festival, showcasing traditional Croatian jewellery.

Rapska Fjera, Rab's Medieval Week, is a costumed event recreating the customs, traditional crafts and way of life in the Middle Ages. Held in the oldest part of town, festivities begin in the afternoon and last well past midnight. Highlights include the Old Crafts Fair and the traditional Knight's Games Parade, which is followed by a crossbow competition. Delicious local food is on offer and musical performances take place throughout the town.

Histria Festival
